How and why is it used on Location Shoots & Sound Stages?: It is used to attach Props and also to adhere flooring where there is a need to protect the existing wall, surface, or flooring from being pulled up from the various other adhesive tapes and glues from leaving residue once the Temporary Prop or Flooring is struck (taken down or off).
Is it better than the other tapes and glues available for the application?: This should be decided by a experienced qualified professional who will be applying whatever it is being applied to. This is due to achieve a specific appearance or look of the finished product. It is also due to decisions made for the safety of the application and situation including judgments made on weight of subject, appearance of subject, any safety issues as far as but not limited to safety of the surrounding workers and or public. Location Tape is not right for all applications. User discretion is advised.
Can Location Tape take place of using nails, screws, and tacs?: In some cases yes it can. This again should only be decided by a qualified experienced professional. Location Tape is a great addition to using Nails or screws by helping the subject, say a sign, from bowing out away from a wall or by keeping the sign level or square. The nails and or screws are sometimes used for safety and Location Tape can address the look.
Is Location Tape better than all the other ways to temporarily attach things?: No it is not, because for each application takes a qualified skilled professional to figure out the best way to attach or affix something. Sometimes weight can be an issue and therefor requires the use of screws, nails, or other means of attachment to make it "SAFE" for all persons working in or around the area for the duration of the temporary application.
How can it benefit Temporary Events such as Weddings Or Parties that take place at rented facilities?: Usually, the facility rented for the event requires the renter to fix any damages incurred to the property when the party is over and sometimes does not permit you to use screws or nails in their walls!! This is were having a roll of location Tape comes in: Instead of using scotch tape that is very weak or using packing tape that will pull up the paint when you take it off the wall, you can use Location Tape because we have incorporated the technology of Blue Painters Tape that will help reduce damage which will reduce your costs of (L&D) Loss & Damage at the end of the event.
